Life Story
I was born in my grandparents’ house (Kolkata, Eastern India). I spent my childhood there, studying in an international school. However, I always enjoyed learning science over the written word. After a few years, I moved to Pune (Western India). The countless stars and concept of an ever-expanding universe inspired me to aspire to become an astrophysicist. My mother motivated me to participate in competitive exams since grade 3. Several achievements at an early age motivated me to study science and math. My mother used to teach me the syllabus of two grades ahead to give me that extra push. Then I joined Jyotirvidya Parisanstha, which deepened my interest in astronomy and strengthened my observing and telescope handling skills. In grade 9, I got a scholarship to join a coaching institute where I was taught the syllabus of grades 11 and 12 in advance.
In grade 11, I shifted to New Delhi for higher studies. Here, my hostel mates were achievers from all over India. Living in a closed environment, we soon became friends. The sharing of ideas and competitive spirit helped everyone to improve at the national and international levels. I learned different undergraduate courses that helped me do wonders at the international level.
The last two years of my life, away from my family, have improved my intellectual, emotional, social, and mental skills. I have (almost) evolved into a new person and acquired various new skill-sets.
